It started in 2012. Jason began working on a startup at the new WeWork labs on Varick Street. That's where he met her. In the 4th floor lounge. It was 😍love at first sight. Tron Legacy Pinball. He played every day, multiple times a day. Getting better and better. Then in 2013 something special happened. Mai had just started a 👩🏻‍💻new job at AQKA. As luck would have it, it was also based out of that same WeWork on Varick street - on the same floor! At her new job around 2pm everyday she would head to the 4th floor couches to work...... right next to the pinball machines. Word had it that there was an annoying 🤡pinball dude, but she had noise cancelling headphones 🎧 and was unfazed. Jason would go play, right next to him - Mai would be sitting, almost spectating as he racked up high score after high score 🏆. Then one day - the pinball machine was moved. It wasn't their time, in fact - neither of them recall each other from this time (just Mai's co-workers who recalled Jason as the annoying pinball dude). Fast forward 2015. 📲Dating Apps. Tinder, Coffee Meets Bagel, Hinge, Happn - they matched on every single one. Mai's profile read "we'll talk if you can make me laugh". Jason waited three months... and then finally mustered up the courage 👏👏👏to message Mai.... the rest was history.
